No, it is not necessary to have an internet package to access the microphone positions (via LBS ) , the GSM package is sufficient, you can receive the locations in the form of SMS. But for a more precise location, it is better to have an internet package (for location via WIFI ).

What type of SIM card and what plan is suitable for the GSM spy power strip?

An unlocked SIM card (without a PIN) with a prepaid plan or subscription. In France, we recommend operators such as Lyca Mobile , Bouygues, Orange, and Lebara. Free does not work, nor does SRF. A data plan is recommended for more precise location.
